Animal Help Foundation was established in Ahmadabad, India in 2000 by Rahul Sehgal. Originally trained in hospitality management, Mr. Sehgal decided to turn his tireless work ethic and exuberant personality toward serving animals in need and the people who work to protect them.

Starting as a shelter, AHF now carries out a range of animal welfare programs and campaigns to improve the lives of animals all over Ahmadabad city and beyond:

• AHF implemented one of the largest Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release projects in India, reaching more than 45,000 street dogs in Ahmadabad between January and December 2006. In recent months, this method of humane animal control has become a lifeline for street dogs in Bangalore and Hyderabad, where local and municipal authorities started catching and killing dogs due to an increase in dog bites.
  
• AHEAD® (Animal Help in Emergency and Disaster) is a program created by AHF to specifically help animals in disasters. Since its inception, AHEAD has assisted in saving thousands of animals in floods, droughts and other catastrophes all over India.
  
• Wild World is the wildlife rehabilitation component of AHF, offering live-saving services to thousands of local, migratory and endangered birds during the annual kite festival held in Ahmadabad. This program also assists in the rehabilitation of injured reptiles and primates.
  
• Pet-Set-Go is the unique profit-generating subsidiary of AHF, offering specialized services for privately owned animals only.
  
• AHF will be reaching the street dog and working camel populations in Ahmadabad as well, through its planned free or subsidized mobile treatment clinics.

AHF and HSI have worked together for the last two years and, most recently, designated Mr. Sehgal as the HSI Manager for India Programs. He will be concentrating on the expansion of disaster preparedness and response in India.
