European Commission and Member States Urged to Heed Parliament’s Position on CITES Species Proposals
Humane Society International welcomed the European Parliament’s adoption of a strong Resolution on the European Union strategic objectives for the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 3 to 14 March.

A new Environics poll commissioned by Humane Society International and the International Fund for Animal Welfare showed that the vast majority of Canadians support the proposal to prohibit the international commercial trade of polar bear parts by uplisting the animals to Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
