Rats are social, intelligent animals who enjoy chasing and grooming each other, sleeping in a pile, wrestling, and playing with food. Their behavior is based mainly on cues from pheromones, or chemical signals from other rats. Studies show that former lab rats can quickly adapt to life in the wild.
