    Costa Rica: SENASA rescató cerca de 400 perros en 2014

    SENASA’s Central Metropolitan Region Rescues Nearly 400 Dogs in 2014

    The Central Metropolitan Region from Costa Rica’s National Animal Health Department rescued 390 dogs, including 213 American Stafford or pit bull type dogs in 2014, according to a report issued by the department. Many were rehabilitated and placed in homes with the help of HSI/Latin America and American Stafford Costa Rica

    Assam Government Directs Police to Ensure No Animal Fights take Place during Bihu

    Cats Rescued from Neglect Could be in New Homes for the Holidays

    Government of Maharashtra Urged to Stop Illegal Cockfighting in Thane District

    EU Suspends Mexican Horsemeat Imports After Food Safety Concerns

    The European Commission implemented a conditional ban of the import of horsemeat from Mexico following a series of audits by the Food and Veterinary Office. The audits consistently identified serious problems with the lack of traceability of horses slaughtered for EU export with origins in the United States and Mexico, particularly regarding veterinary medical treatment records.
