Humane Society International of Latin America in conjunction with the Ministry of the Presidency, SENASA and others successfully conclude the Local Government Animal Welfare Program
Humane Society International/Latin America in conjunction with the National Animal Health Service (SENASA), the National Coordination of Animal Welfare of the Ministry of the Presidency, the Program Tejiendo Desarrollo of The First Lady of the Republic of Costa Rica, the Institute of Municipal Development and Assistance and World Animal Protection successfully concluded the Local Government Animal Welfare Program of companion animals whose main objective is to integrate the municipalities to the development of animal welfare projects that can be implemented in their communities.

HSI Latinoamérica en conjunto con el Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal, la Coordinación Nacional de Bienestar Animal del Ministerio de la Presidencia, programa Tejiendo Desarrollo de la Primera Dama de la República de Costa Rica, el Instituto de Fomento y Ayuda Municipal y la World Animal Protection concluyeron con éxito el Programa Gobiernos Locales y el Bienestar de los Animales de Compañía: Plan Piloto el cual tiene como objetivo principal integrar a las municipalidades al desarrollo de proyectos de bienestar animal que puedan ser implementados en sus cantones.

Poll shows Chileans overwhelmingly support cruelty-free laws banning animal testing for cosmetics
Polling by Cadem consultancy showed that the vast majority of Chileans surveyed (78 percent) oppose animal testing for cosmetics, while 86 percent believe the country should follow the example set by 37 other nations that have enacted laws banning this practice.

South Korea revises chemical law to require prioritization of “vertebrate animal alternative testing”
South Korea’s National Assembly passed a bill revising the Act on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances (K-REACH) to require companies, the country’s Ministry of Environment and its subsidiaries to prioritize adopting alternative methods to animal testing.

L'athlète olympique Gus Kenworthy retrouve Beemo, le chiot sauvé d’un élevage de viande canine en Corée du Sud qu’il va adopter
HSI a sauvé plus de 80 chiens d’un élevage de viande canine en Corée du Sud grâce au soutien généreux de la Fondation Familiale Eric S. Margolis. Parmi ces chiens chanceux se trouve Beemo, qui a fait craquer le skieur acrobatique olympique américain Gus Kenworthy et son petit-ami Matt Wilkas lorsqu’ils ont visité l’élevage de viande canine avec HSI.
