First Quebec Puppy Pledge Signed

Humane Society International/Canada

by Nik Gour

At the end of this summer, Humane Society International/Canada proudly announced its first signatory to the Canadian Puppy-Friendly Pet Store Pledge. Today, we welcomed the first signatory in Québec! Mon Maître et Moi is a small, family-run business in the heart of Québec. They opened their doors in July of 2008 and have been concentrating on improving welfare for dogs in their region. They offer workshops, nutritional advice, behavioural training and grooming services.

Here is what the mother and daughter team had to say:

“Since our first day, we have been working to improve dog-human bonds. We work to inform our clientele that when you adopt an animal, it’s for life and that it’s important to engage the animal in activities so he will behave properly and be psychologically healthy. ”

Humane Society International/Canada congratulates Anilou St-Denis and Julie Simard for their compassionate decision, and hopes that they will be the first of many businesses in Québec and Canada to sign our Puppy-Friendly Pet Store Pledge.
