The Court of Justice of the European Union confirmed the EU’s 2013 ban on cosmetic animal testing and trade with a verdict that expressly forbids companies from relying on results from animal tests conducted after March 2013 to substantiate the safety of cosmetic products in the EU.

The European Commission is set to adopt long-awaited requirements to more strictly regulate horsemeat imports from non-EU countries. HSI/Europe says that whilst tackling the issue of traceability of horsemeat is important, the new rules risk compromising horse welfare by potentially keeping large numbers of horses on feedlots for long periods of time.

South Korea’s cruel dog meat trade must end, say UK MPs & animal protection campaigners at Parliament debate
During a Westminster Hall debate this week, Britain's MPs called for an end to South Korea’s cruel factory farming of dogs for human consumption. Animal protection campaigners from Humane Society International/UK applauded Parliament for ‘giving a voice to the voiceless millions of dogs condemned to die for their meat.’
