100,000 INR Reward Offered for Information Leading to Conviction of the Person Brutally Kicking a Dog
HSI takes decision after a video depicting this cruelty goes viral on Facebook
Humane Society International/India is offering a reward of up to INR 100,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person kicking the dog in a video being circulated widely on Facebook.
“It takes a truly callous person to kick an innocent, defenseless dog. We are hopeful that this reward will urge anyone with information about this heinous crime to step forward and talk to the police”, said N.G. Jayasimha, managing director of HSI/India.
Getting the attention of law enforcement, prosecutors and the community in cases involving allegations of cruelty to animals is an essential step in protecting the community. The connection between animal cruelty and human violence is well documented. Studies show a correlation between animal cruelty and other crimes such as narcotics, firearms violations, battery and sexual assault.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 040 27902602 or 040 27902601. Alternatively they can dial Welfare of Stray Dogs, Mumbai helpline at 022-64222838.
