Na data de hoje a União Europeia (UE) implementa a proibição da venda de cosméticos recém-testados em animais. A Humane Society International (HSI), uma das maiores organizações de proteção animal do mundo, usa a data simbólica para pedir que o governo brasileiro siga o exemplo e adote medidas para acabar com testes em animais para cosméticos em todo o país.
