HSI welcomed CONCEA’s acknowledgement of 17 alternative test methods for cosmetics and chemical safety. However, HSI warns that CONCEA’s stipulated five-year delay before the animal tests must cease is contrary to Brazilian law which already mandates immediate replacement of animal tests once alternatives are available.
