COUNTRY DIRECTOR, ROMANIA

Andreea Roseti

Andreea Roseti is the Romania country director for Humane Society International. She is responsible for a wide range of programs, including working to ban fur farming and promoting coexistence with brown bears.

Before joining HSI, she founded Animal Life, a nonprofit that focuses on companion animals, and built one of the first authorized private dog shelters in Romania. She introduced the local authorities of Sibiu County to catch-neuter-release programs that continue to the present day. Roseti lives in Sibiu, Transylvania, and grew up in a multi-ethnic community of Romanians, Germans, Hungarians and Roma people. She experienced the 1989 revolution and the transition to democracy. As a child, she spent summers at her grandmother’s farm, which is where she fell in love with nature and animals.
