COUNTRY DIRECTOR, ROMANIA
Andreea lives in Sibiu, Transylvania and grew up in a multi-ethnic community of Romanians, Germans, Hungarians and Roma people. She experienced the 1989 revolution and the transition to democracy. As a child, she used to spend summers at her grandmother’s farm, which is where she fell in love with nature and animals and which laid the foundation for her future: dedicating her life to helping animals. She has studied German and English, received a translator’s license, and previously worked as a teacher. She also worked in marketing and sales for several years. Andreea founded an NGO and built one of the first authorized private dog shelters in Romania. She further introduced the local authorities of Sibiu County to catch-neuter-release programs that continue to the present day.
