Daniela Paula Benavides Sanchez

Daniela is a veterinarian from the University of Chile and holds a master’s degree in rural and natural systems management from the University of Queensland, Australia. She has over 10 years of experience with managing government projects on animal welfare, livestock and wildlife protection at the Livestock and Agriculture Service in Chile. She has also been an external consultant for projects related to participatory innovation for sustainability and worked as a formal coach, training managers and teams on interpersonal skills for effectiveness and leadership.
She is responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of HSI’s companion, farm, laboratory and wildlife animals’ programs in Chile, which include policy advocacy, capacity enhancement, fighting cruelty to animals and protecting wildlife.
Finally, Daniela is the sub director of the Animal Welfare Commission of the Chilean Veterinary School.
