VICE PRESIDENT, WILDLIFE

Alexandra KennaughAlexandra Kennaugh is vice president of wildlife at Humane Society International. She is an accomplished wildlife protection advocate with experience working in southern and eastern Africa, southeast Asia, China and South America. Most recently, she served as the Head of Programme, Wildlife Conservation and Trade at the Oak Foundation, a philanthropic foundation for which she designed and implemented a socio-ecological systems change strategy to protect wildlife.

Alex’s previous experience also includes leading the Strategy Research and Positioning team at the Natural Resources Defense Council as well as working for Conservation International, Shared Interest and the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in South Africa.

Alex received a Master of Public Policy with a certificate in international development economics from Duke University, an executive education certificate in marketing from New York University and a certificate in African wildlife capture assistance in Zimbabwe. Born in South Africa, she now lives in London with her three teenage sons, her Spaniel, Tille, and her cat, Inky.
